Film rights to Clare Leslie Hall’s BROKEN COUNTRY have been sold to Sony’s 3000 Pictures, and will be produced by Hello Sunshine

We couldn’t possibly be more thrilled to announce that 3000 Pictures and Hello Sunshine, the collaborators who brought Where the Crawdads Sing to the big screen, are reuniting to adapt TBP’s own Clare Leslie Hall’s BROKEN COUNTRY! Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce, while Ashley Strumwasser will executive produce on behalf of Hello Sunshine.  

Clare’s romantic suspense novel (publishing March 2025), which has now sold in 30 territories, is an epic love story about a married woman whose first love unexpectedly comes crashing back into her life and changes everything in an instant. His presence unravels her world as she weighs all that could have been, against the life she has made for herself since. Passion proves dangerous, ultimately leading to a murder and unearthing a web of secrets that she always intended to leave buried in the past.

We are so incredibly proud of Clare, and cannot wait for this brilliant novel to be adapted into what we’re sure will be an equally brilliant film!
