Shuning Ji

Shuning Ji (She/her) is a freelance illustrator and comic artist with a passion for vibrant, colourful scenes that capture unique atmospheres. Born and raised in Beijing, she moved to Edinburgh in 2020 to pursue her MA in Illustration at the University of Edinburgh. Growing up, she spent countless hours immersed in manga and anime, with Detective Conan (or Case Closed) as her all-time favorite. 

In 2021, her creative journey took an exciting turn when her first comic anthology, Catalyst, was published in the UK. This milestone boosted her confidence and solidified her dream of becoming a professional comic artist. 

When she’s not drawing, Shuning can usually be found binge-watching rom-com K-dramas, hunting down the best hot pot spots in the city, or fueling her creativity with way too much coffee.
