Zoya Kooper

Zoya Kooper grew up partly on an outback farm and partly by the sea and still can’t decide which she preferred. Now she writes magical middle-grade fiction by day and becomes a medical scientist at night, although this can be switched around to keep her on her toes.  

She’s won multiple awards for her short stories and mentorships for longer fiction with the Australian Society of Authors as well as the CBCA’s Charlotte Waring Barton Award, and she’s been published in The School Magazine, many anthologies and online. 

Zoya has also treasured participating in the annual Write-A-Book-in-a-Day workshop for the Kids Cancer Project, and with the same team, her co-written middle-grade novel, INTO TORDON, was published by MidnightSun in 2016.
