Pottermore’s Patronus experience has been the recipient of two recent awards recognising the online platform for its digital innovation in experience and design. The FWA, made up of a team of 200 international judges who vote daily on projects involving cutting-edge innovation in digital design and development and which prides itself on pushing the internet generation forward, showcases the most progressive and forward thinking projects, created by individuals, agencies, and brands. The “Discover your Patronus” experience was chosen as the FWA’s “FWA of the Day” for the 11th October 2016, and was subsequently awarded the “FWA of the Month” for October 2016. The experience received a remarkably high score of 85/100 from the judges who reviewed it on the basis of design, technology, experience and editorial expertise. Pottermore has also been nominated for four Drum Social Buzz Awards around the launch of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play launch.

The Patronus experience has also been praised by Awwwards – the awards that recognise the talent and effort of the best web designers, developers and agencies in the world. Awwwards scored the experience highly in the categories of design, usability, creativity and content, and recognised this by presenting it with a Daily Award. The Patronus experience will now also receive a prominent feature in Awwwards’ annual book – The Best 365 Websites Around the World.

Furthermore, both Pottermore Presents – a trio of eBooks that delve into the wizarding world, including Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable GuideShort Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists, and Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies –  and the new, illustrated editions of the Harry Potter series have been shortlisted for the award for Children’s Digital Book of the Year in the FutureBook Awards, the winner of which will be announced in December.
